I'll Pass Up This Temptation

Cool! I have a new toy! It's called the Divine Temptation by California Exotics.

How do you use it?
The Divine Temptation is best used on the clit or vagina. It can also be used to tease the anus and erogenous areas. Because it doesn't have a flared base, please do not insert into your butt. Also, it's really not big enough for massaging places like your back, but it is nice to use when the body has smaller pain locations.

This toy is good for those who like soft to mild and buzzy vibrations; comparable to that of a very strong cell phone. Since it doesn't have a variety of power options and modes to choose from, I wouldn't recommend it to beginners or someone who likes a strong toy. I also don't recommend this to someone who doesn't cope well with buzzy toys.

When inserted, it won't hit the g spot or the cervix. If anything, this is more appropriate for teasing the vagina.

How big is the Divine Temptation and what is it made of?
The Temptation's head is made of TPR, which means that it is a rubber component and is not able to be sterilized. This ranks a seven on the Eden Safety Scale. The rest of the toy is made of smooth black plastic, which can be cleaned but not sterilized. Basically, this toy needs to have a condom on it if you decide to share it with someone. The head attracts dirt, but it is very minimal.

About the length of a marker.
The head has a slight rubber smell that can be detected if you put it up to your nose. However, at arm's length, not even the most sensitive nose should be able to smell it.  The very top of the toy is very smooth; on the edges there are slight ridges that really can't be felt upon insertion. The tip has a drag that can be minimized by adding a little bit of silicone or water based lube. However, when I used this on my clit, I found that my clit was catching unto the toy and the toy was kind of dragging it along. It wasn't painful but more of an annoying sensation.

As wide as a bottle nail polish

The Temptation is a total length of 6 inches and has a insertable length of 3 inches. The TPR head is about two inches long. The insertable  circumference is 3 1/2 inches and the circumference of the whole toy is 4 1/8 inches. The diameter is 1 1/8 inches. So this isn't meant for size queens at all.

How is the Temptation powered?
The Temptation is powered on two AAA, so it's not very strong. Like I said at the beginning, it is about the same strength as a really strong cell phone or a massager you can get at Target (you know, the ones that are meant for your back). The vibrations are very, very buzzy and it had a tendency to make my hand go numb after using it for a minute or so.

Pink button at the bottom
It has one mode of vibration but the head can rotate clockwise or counterclockwise. I found that the strength of the vibrator was the same no matter what direction it went. I did find that it dragged my clit around a little bit, even with the application of water based lube. It wasn't painful but I was a bit annoyed with it.

To turn on/ off the toy, click the pink button at the very bottom of the toy. To change the rotation, click the toy on again.

I did not find anything on the toy being water proofed, so I decided not to test it in the water. However, I accidentally did spill some water on it during cleaning and it worked just fine afterwards. I just wouldn't recommend taking this in the bath or shower for fear of ruining it.

How do you clean the Temptation?
TPE and plastic cannot be sterilized; they can only be cleaned by soap or toy cleaner and water. Do not bleach, boil or stick in the dish washer. If you share it with anyone, please make sure to add a condom to it. The Temptation is compatible with silicone and water based lubes.

How is the Temptation packaged?

The Divine Temptation is packaged in a plastic-ish box with Divine written at the top; it also reads "Rotation plus Vibration" and "California Exotic Novelties Temptation" at the middle and bottom. On the back, it talks about how the massager was made for women and how the head rotates. The front of the box also opens up to reveal the toy on display.

It's not the most discreet box for gift giving, but it's classy enough to be given to a close friend. It doesn't outright scream sex toy, which is nice if you are looking for discreetness. Of course, if someone inspected, they would know immediately what it is. If you don't like the box, it can always be recycled.

The toy is also packaged with instructions in English, German, French and Spanish. The instructions tell you how to put in the batteries, electrical malfunctions and how to take of water proof and non waterproof toys. It doesn't tell you if the toy is water proof, however.

So what did you think of the Temptation?
I thought it was a nice, pretty teaser toy, but to be honest, I have bullets with the same capacities as the Temptation. I'm not a fan of the rotating head and I do wish the toy was made of higher quality materials. However, I do like the fact that the head attracts minimal dirt and clean up is pretty easy. It's also pretty quiet; it can't be heard through a door so it's great for dorms (or if you have kids).

If it had a little more power, I would love to buy it again. Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $25 for this (since the price isn't listed). It's a nice toy for someone who likes lightly moderate, buzzy vibrations.
