MMM... Hitachi

I finally buckled and bought my new Hitachi wand from EdenFantasys. I actually wasn't planning to get it at all, but when I was about to purchase a Leaf vibe, I decided impulsively that I NEEDED a Mimi and a Hitachi and purchased both before I could change my mind. Best. Impulsive. Decision. Ever.
What is it?
Um, it's the legendary Hitachi wand! If you don't know what it was, then you've been living in a hole your whole life. Totally kidding. The Hitachi wand has been available to Americans since the 70s and is powered via plug in the wall. It was originally marketed (and still is marketed) as a massager for achy muscles, but after a brief pornographic appearance, it has gained a cult following especially among women as a feminine masturbator.

The Hitachi is on the louder side, and is also incredibly powerful on the lowest setting. I wouldn't really recommend it for those who are looking for a quiet option or for those that are brand new to toys. Instead, I feel it would be best for those who prefer stronger toys. It's also best that you're comfortable with louder toys.

It is wonderful to use on external body parts, such as arms, clitorises, backs, and the perineal zone, and wherever else you decide to use it. Do not use it anally.

The Hitachi plugs into the wall and uses no batteries whatsoever. In that respect, it's an awesome money saver.

What does the Hitachi look like?
The reason why I was so on the fence to purchase this bad boy was because it is not an aesthetically pleasing toy. It's huge, it's bulky, and there is little redeemable artistic value. However, once I got past its looks, I was truly able to appreciate it.

The Hitachi is a larger toy; it's a whopping foot long. It is not meant to be inserted- if you want to feel these fabulous vibrations inside of you, there are plenty of attachments that you can purchase from Eden. At its widest, it has a circumference of 6 3/4 inches and a diameter of 2 3/8 inches. I found that, despite its massive size, it fits comfortably with the rest of my toys.

Though it's bigger, one redeeming quality that the Hitachi has is that it doesn't look like a sex toy. It technically isn't supposed to be a sex toy, but that's besides the point. Instead, it's quite feasible to leave it out and no one suspect the better. I found that it fits comfortably in my sex toy/ camera drawer, which houses a Holga camera and about 20 sex silicone sex toys.

The head of the toy is the "massaging" part, which is meant to be used on whatever body part you choose. The head is incredibly plushy, but it doesn't bend. The neck of the toy is made of plastic. The rest of the wand is the handle, with the control panel located in the middle.

How powerful is it?
This thing is incredibly strong. I found that if I used it by myself, my clitoris gets sensitive fast and I don't handle it that well. Instead, I'll use a teaser toy, such as my Mimi, and then finish myself with the Hitachi on its lowest setting.

The Hitachi is the strongest toy that I own, and you are more than welcome to browse my personal collection, which is displayed on the rest of this blog and here. It's stronger than the Mimi on it's highest setting, and on the Hitachi's highest setting, it's absolutely unbelievable. I really don't know what else I can compare it to. It's just really damned strong.

The Hitachi is plugged in the wall, with a US plug. It is not meant to be used in other countries that use foreign adapters, because it causes strain to the toy and could possibly lead to damage and possible harm to the user.

It has two settings, strong and stronger. The Hitachi is very loud, and it can be heard through the door. I personally don't care who hears me masturbating, but if you are shy, or you're in a situation that doesn't permit loud noises, the Hitachi may not be meant for you.

To turn it on, you move the button in the middle to either the "Low" setting or "High" setting. To turn it off, simply turn the button to the neutral setting.

How do you clean it and what is it made of?
This is not waterproof!! You need to remember that, because if you get anything but the head wet, you can damage the whole damned toy. To clean it, make sure you wipe down the head of the toy and wherever else that came in contact with fluids with a toy cleaner or soap and warm water.

The whole toy is made of plastic, which cannot be sterilized. It is compatible with silicone and water based silicone. Plastic is non-porous and phthalates free.

What kind of packaging does it come with?
The Hitachi is all about discreetness. The packaging is a plastic box, with several pictures of people using the Hitachi in a non sexual way. It came with a small instruction package.

What did you think of the Hitachi?
It's one of my favorite toys, despite the fact that it's so freakin' ugly. It does the job in an incredibly timely manner. I wish there were more settings, but I'm totally content that it makes me orgasm in fewer than 2 minutes.
